With the recent intensification of research for the genetic improvement of pearl millet, (Pennisetum typhoides S. & H.), studies on multiple regression technique would be useful in the utilization of the yield components more effectively in selection programmes. Since this crop is primarily grown in India for human consumption, the present investigation was aimed at studying the influence of yield components such as length and girth of spike, tillering, grain size and density upon grain yield. The influence of chemical constituents of the grain upon grain yield were also worked out. The multiple regression analysis was done on the mean values of different characters.
