Nearly $3.5 billion in value was added or created by farm production activities in Nebraska in 1979. Crop enterprises accounted for 64% of the value created. Corn ($1,063 million), cattle -- both feedlot and ranch -- ($914 million) was dominant in terms of value created. Other enterprises exceeding the 2700 mil1ion in value created include hay ($291 mi11ion), soybeans ($282 million), wheat ($272 mi11ion), and sorghum grain ($258 million)
